Week 5 What affects planet temperature?

This week we found out what affects the temperature of the planets. We tried out online-pioneer and altered the albedo (refelctiveness) of the planet. We also changed the thickness of the planet's atmosphere and the planet's distance from the sun. All these made a difference to the planet's temperature.

Post a message saying what you learned this week.

The albedo and the distance from the Sun affect the temperature. The atmosphere acts like a blanket and keeps you warm.

Pluto is very cold because it is very far from the sun and it has no atmosphere. Mercury is the hottest planet because it is next to the sun.

    Hi from p5/6
We learnt the temperature of the planets
If you increase the shininess of the planet it gets colder and if you increase the distance of the planet from the sun it gets colder BUT if you increase the atmosphere it gets hotter

The thicker the atmosphere the hotter the planet because it is like a huge blanket. If you move Mercury closer to the sun it will be hotter!!!
